Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team as our foundational QA expert. This is a unique opportunity to build our entire quality practice from the ground up. As the sole QA Engineer, you will have complete ownership and the autonomy to define our testing strategy, select the tools, and implement the frameworks that will ensure our products are world-class. This role is remote initially and requires working hours aligned with Riyadh, KSA, with the plan to transition to our future Egypt office upon its establishment. If you are a self-starter who is passionate about building things from scratch and wants to make a massive impact, this is the role for you.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Build the QA Foundation: Establish and own the entire Quality Assurance function. You will single-handedly define the tools, create the processes, and set the quality standards for the entire engineering team.
  • Architect and Implement Automation: Personally design, build, and maintain a scalable test automation framework for our entire technology stack, from backend APIs to front-end web applications.
  • Be the Hands-On Expert: Act as the dedicated, hands-on expert for all testing activities—including writing and executing automated scripts, performing critical manual and exploratory testing, and validating API functionality.
  • Drive a Culture of Quality: Champion quality across the engineering team by embedding best practices directly into the development lifecycle and demonstrating the value of robust testing.
  • Own the CI/CD Quality Gates: Take full ownership of integrating automated tests into our CI/CD pipeline to create reliable quality gates for every deployment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in Quality Assurance, with a strong, hands-on focus on test automation.
  • Proven Autonomy: Demonstrated experience thriving in an autonomous role, such as being a solo QA engineer or founding the QA practice in a previous position.
  • Location: Must be based in Egypt.
  • Work Hours: Ability to work full-time during standard business hours in Riyadh, KSA (GMT+3).
  • Test Architecture Expertise: Deep, hands-on expertise in architecting and building test automation frameworks from scratch using JavaScript, Python, or Java.
  • Tooling Mastery: Expert-level proficiency with modern testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, Postman).
  • CI/CD Integration: Proven experience designing and implementing comprehensive automated test suites within CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins).

Nice to Have (Bonus Points! ✨)

  • Advanced Cloud Expertise: Significant experience testing applications in an AWS cloud environment, particularly with serverless architectures (Lambda), containers (ECS/EKS), and using services like CloudWatch for deep-dive analysis.
  • Performance Engineering: Deep knowledge of performance and load testing methodologies and tools (e.g., JMeter, k6, Gatling).
  • Database Skills: Strong SQL skills for complex data validation and a good understanding of NoSQL databases.
  • Security Testing: Familiarity with common web application security vulnerabilities and basic security testing principles.
