Role Objectives
The Fleet Supervisor will responsible for overseeing and managing the operations of a fleet of vehicles within an organization. Their primary role is to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of the fleet, including vehicle maintenance, driver management, route optimization, and compliance with regulations.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Coordinate with external vendors, such as fuel providers, maintenance service providers, and parts suppliers, to ensure timely and cost-effective support for fleet operations.
Monitor vendor performance and negotiate contracts to optimize fleet-related expenses.
Promote and enforce safe driving practices among drivers
Conduct periodic safety training sessions and ensure compliance with safety protocols, including accident reporting and investigation.
Mitigate risks associated with fleet operations and implement measures to enhance driver and public safety
Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and enhanced fleet performance
Analyze fleet performance data, such as fuel consumption, mileage, and driver productivity, to identify trends, areas for improvement, and cost-saving opportunities. Generate regular reports on fleet performance metrics and present insights and recommendations to management
Maintain effective communication with drivers, dispatchers, warehouse personnel, and other stakeholders to facilitate efficient fleet operations
Provide timely updates, instructions, and support to drivers and address any fleet-related inquiries or concerns.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS
Bachelor's degree
5+ years of proven work experience in fleet management, logistics, transportation, or a related field is preferred
Knowledge of transportation regulations, vehicle maintenance requirements, and safety standards
Familiarity with fleet management systems, GPS tracking systems, and other relevant technology used in fleet operations
Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage multiple trucks, schedules, and tasks simultaneously
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with drivers, vendors, and internal stakeholders
Analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify inefficiencies, optimize routes, and address fleet-related issues.
Attention to detail to ensure accurate record-keeping, compliance, and reporting
Time management skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and respond to unexpected situations promptly
